Director of Sales
Midwest to South Central U.S. | Reports to CEO | ~50% Travel
Overview
InnoVoyce is seeking an accomplished Director of Sales to lead and manage national commercial operations. The Director of Sales will oversee a full P&L, execute against an approved budget, and lead a field organization consisting of direct distribution representatives and independent distributors.
This role requires an entrepreneurial, high-performing leader with deep experience in surgical capital equipment and consumable sales within a surgical operating room environment. The Director will take full ownership of the business unit and drive aggressive growth through both direct and channel strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Sales Execution
- Drive key account sales through direct engagement with surgeons, hospital administrators, and clinical stakeholders
- Maintain a strong presence in hospital operating rooms and ambulatory surgery centers
- Provide support during surgical procedures as needed
Commercial Management
Develop and execute a comprehensive national plan to grow all three revenue streams:
- Capital surgical laser equipment
- Consumables
- Support and management of mobilizers
Operating Room Expertise
Develop and execute a comprehensive national plan to grow all three revenue streams:
- Demonstrated experience working in a sterile operating room environment
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and hospital credentialing requirements
- Ability to support clinical teams during procedures
Mobilizer Management
Partner closely with mobilizers and practice development partners to expand procedural adoption
P&L and Budget Ownership
- Manage full profit and loss statement and operating budget for the assigned business unit
- Ensure disciplined financial performance and sustainable growth
Strategic Relationships
- Establish and sustain relationships with key opinion leaders and regional health systems
- Navigate Value Analysis Committee processes and hospital purchasing pathways
Forecasting and Reporting
Deliver accurate forecasts, market insights, and operational reports to senior management
Market Development
- Identify new growth opportunities
- Develop national partnerships and sales programs to accelerate market penetration
Entrepreneurial Leadership
- Operate with full ownership of results and accountability for business outcomes
Qualifications
- Proven track record selling into hospital operating rooms and ambulatory surgery centers
- Minimum 5 years of surgical medical device sales experience, including both capital equipment and consumables
- Familiarity with VAC approval processes and hospital purchasing pathways
- Ability to train and support physicians and clinical professionals in a surgical environment
- Top 10% sales performance history in previous roles
- Experience leading distributors and national sales teams
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders and clinical champions
- Demonstrated success managing both capital and consumable revenue streams
- Strong entrepreneurial and operational acumen, including P&L management and budget allocation
- Residence in a major metropolitan city within the assigned region with convenient airport access
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% nationally
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
